Meet Our Legal Team
Mary E. Mullin, Attorney at Law
The death of a loved one can be so traumatic that you never really fully
recover. My Dad died when I was three. You might say that my experience
with probate and decedent’s estates started there.
He was only 33 when we lost him, and unfortunately, he had made few provisions
for his family. Because my father had no formal plan, his estate was greatly
reduced by court costs.
When I meet with clients, my life experience in this matter, combined with
a law practice of nearly a quarter of a century, enables me to offer them
personalized service that meets their unique needs. (I have also taught
at the university and college level and am quite familiar with the nuances
of probate law that affect your bottom line.)
Clients want to see the value of the legal work for which they are paying
– to clearly understand the documents they are signing. I believe
clients can make better choices once they know the pros and cons –
and consequences – of the legal decisions confronting them.
I especially enjoy breaking down walls of confusion and clearing up mysteries
about the law. The law, after all, is designed to serve the interests
of the people. But that can only happen if they understand their legal
rights and responsibilities.
I became a member of the local community almost 30 years ago, when I moved
to California after graduate school. Every time I use my skills and expertise
to benefit my neighbors, fellow church members and those who live and
work in our surrounding communities, I feel a deep sense of joy and gratitude.
Probate law may not be a topic of everyday conversation, but its proper
application can make a big difference when the need of it arises.
I received my Bachelor's degree and my Master's degree from the
University of Maryland. After teaching for several semesters at local
colleges, I obtained my Juris Doctor from Western State University College
of Law in Fullerton, and was sworn in to the California Bar in 1992.
The doors of my practice opened in Santa Fe Springs, California in 1993.
Although I handled a variety of legal matters during my first 10 years
of practice -- Family Law, Business Law, Bankruptcy, Civil Litigation,
Collections, Landlord-Tenant Law and more – I’ve been fortunate
enough since then to focus on Probate (Decedent's Estates, Conservatorships
and Guardianships), Trusts and Trust Administration, and Estate Planning.
In addition to my experience as an attorney, I bring my experience as a
Paralegal Educator to my practice as well, and have some of best Paralegals
around working for me.
To sum up, my goal is to help you to understand your Probate, Trust and
Estate Planning options so you can make the best choices for your financial
future. I want you to be so satisfied with my work that you’ll come
back and see me whenever you have other matters to contend with. In March
of 2018, I’ll be celebrating my 25th anniversary in this wonderfully gratifying work. My practice has flourished
because clients refer their friends and family to me to help with their
Probate, Trust or Estate Planning issues, and for that, I offer a heartfelt
thank you.

Diana Jimenez, Lead Paralegal
Behind every successful and effective attorney is a brilliant paralegal.
Mary E. Mullin is no exception. Her lead paralegal, Diana Rios, was born
and raised in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. She studied Business Administration
and Finance at the Universidad de Guadalajara, in Guadalajara, Mexico
for two years before moving to Southern California. She is able to speak,
read and write Spanish as a native speaker. This is a great asset in meeting
the needs of our Spanish-speaking clients.
After coming to California, Diana completed the ABA-Approved Paralegal
Program at Cerritos College, receiving an Associates Degree with a Certificate
in Paralegal studies. Her areas of paralegal specialization were in Estate
Planning and Probate. Ms. Rios is a Notary Public.
According to Diana, the best things about working as a paralegal for Mary
E. Mullin, Attorney at Law are being able to help people in their time
of grieving, being able to explain to clients the purpose of each estate
planning document, and being able to help people to protect their assets
for their love ones when it's time to leave this world.

Degree she obtained a Certificate in Paralegal Studies from the ABA-Approved
